A SPECIAL VISITOR
Escrito por Elena Martínez, jueves 14 de marzo de 2013 , 16:06 hs

Last Wednesday 13th March we had a special visitor at our school. If you are in 1º,2º or 3º ESO, you will remember him for sure! Unfortunately, some students missed the presentation because their bus couldn´t come to school... It was snowing quite hard! What a pity!  We hope it will be sunny next time...

His name is Luke and he is from Liverpool, England. He is an English teacher who works for Burlington Books in Spain. In his visit, he explained to us some basic facts about the United Kingdom: geography, symbols, food, habits... It was great fun listening to him and answering his questions in English! Are you one of the students who got a pen for a right answer? We also enjoyed the "Do you want to be a Millionaire?" quiz. One of our students (David Valbuena) took part in it and talked to Luke´s mum on the phone... Such a nice, helpful lady! Thanks to her, David won a school notebook with very colourful British covers. How lucky!

Now you can try your memory! Do you remember the answers to these questions?

  1. What is the name of the British flag?
  2. What is the national symbol of Wales?
  3. What do you call a London bus with two floors?
  4. How do you say "tiquismiquis" in English?
  5. Who is Prince William´s grandmother?
  6. What exactly is Big Ben?

If you have forgotten any of the answers, you can e-mail Luke and ask him, in English, of course... He will be happy to answer you!
